New Poll Time

While we’ve had good attendance figures in places like Seattle, Toronto and to a degree in LA. Other places so far this season have been down a good bit for various reason. I figured I would ask in a new WVH Poll what the reason are for the lower numbers of butts-in-seats so far this season.

Is it weather? The economy bringing you down? Start time of the game? What else? If you have “other” as an answer let us know what is the reason by posting below here.

New Poll Time

Time once again for a new poll here at WVH. Today we continue our season preview with a poll of the eastern conference. Who’s gonna win the eastern crown this year?

Can Columbus repeat? Or will a new dog appear like New York or Toronto?

Will DC or New England return to the top? Or will Blanco and the Fire steal the show in 2009?

So let’s hear it folks. The poll will be up for the rest of the week as next week a poll on the west will be up!

New Poll: Best Winter So Far

New poll time. Then again I never announced the last poll after the MLS SuperDraft. Most of you believed Toronto had the best draft. Time now to vote on who has had the best winter/offseason so far in terms of player movement.

I’ve included the few teams that I thought have had solid winters so far in terms of addressing team needs and making the biggest splashes. Most are teams that didn’t do well or in one club’s case didn’t exists last year. For the most part this winter has been a dud in terms of player signings as most clubs haven’t even made a peep other than the draft and some trades.

And as always, if you vote for other in the poll, feel free to post here why you did.

New Poll Time

It’s been far too long since I’ve updated the poll here at WVH. Today was a good time for it to be updated though. Question at hand deals with next week’s SuperDraft. Who will be Seattle’s pick?

A couple Generation adidas players on the list but if you think someone else will hear their name be called out first that isn’t on that list feel free to post it below.

A new poll will appear after the draft.

New Poll Time

I’ve waited around to do this poll for a few reasons but now seems like a good time to kick it into full gear for a few weeks. It’s all about MLS Philadelphia. Pick the name of the club. I put three (or four) on the poll but if you think of something better just leave a comment here and if it is good enough it may get added to the poll.

Happy voting.

New Poll

Time again for another poll. I mentioned it in another post here but thought I should mention it again to those who don’t read everything. We have a new poll on the right side of the page for the next week. It’s all about the potential MLS Cup matchup. Who’s it gonna be?

Let’s hear it!

Weekend Recap: Final Four Set

Utter shock. That’s a way to describe one result this past weekend. It may also be another way to describe the Western Conference final match-up. Yeah who saw that coming?

I must say the result in Houston yesterday was a big one. One that will not only save the job of Juan Carlos Osorio, but one that may make him a hero in the Big Apple if they continue to pull the unbelievable. His mad science coaching type this past weekend proved to be the difference maker. No one saw that scoreline coming. Maybe some Houston fans thinking it would be 3-0 Dynamo but not 3-0 Red Bulls.

So we have it now, our final four. Chicago against Columbus (MLS Cup before MLS Cup?) and New York against Real Salt Lake (really, you’re kidding me?).

Yeah one side of the plate we do have a MLS Cup-type match. The Crew against the Fire. Winner should easily be favored to win the Cup. I can’t even begin to say how much I like the thought of this Eastern Conference finals. Probably one of the better match-ups in either conference that we’ve had in some time.

But the Western side of the plate is one that is, well, rather interesting. If you correctly predicted a New York-RSL match for the Western Final then congrats to you. But let’s be honest I highly doubt too many people predicted that. It actually should be a good game on Saturday out in Salt Lake because these two always and I mean always produce a entertaining game.

I think one of the good things out of this though is that BOTH conference finals will be played at soccer only stadiums. That actually is a positive thing here when you think about it. Crew Stadium, the Wrigley Field of MLS and Rio Tinto Stadium.

I’ll have more on these games this week though.

So what do you all make of these conference finals (VOTE ON NOW AT THE NEW POLL)? Will we get a good MLS Cup out of it? Or will that Eastern Conference clash on Thursday be enough?
