Around the league the last couple days we’ve seen a number of roster moves. Below is a current list of what’s gone on over the last few days. I’ll have the in-season player movement page updated with this information shortly.

Mostly these are moves where clubs are releasing or waiving players to make room on their roster for the upcoming transfer window this summer.The three signed over the last couple days were all keepers.

Waived/Released/Contracts Terminated:

As mentioned earlier today, lots of clubs are starting to clear off roster space for the summer months. Two clubs cleared out some room today.

DC United waived keeper Louis Crayton.

San Jose waived two, defender Eric Denton and midfielder Kelly Gray.

Crayton was on the block for a while to get released and it was really only a matter of time. As for Denton and Gray, I honestly I a feeling a few weeks back when the Quakes were in town visiting FC Dallas that both of them were possibly on the block. More so for Gray than Denton but it isn’t a total shock to see either waived here.

I fully expect more to come in the next couple of weeks as the summer transfer window will open up soon. Clubs will be looking to bring in new talent and you can expect these moves today are part of that.

I posted a message yesterday evening on my Twitter feed about the Galaxy quietly waiving players. Turns out the three I mentioned yesterday weren’t the only ones getting the ax.

In all the Galaxy dumped goalkeeper Steve Cronin, defenders Brandon McDonald, Mike Randolph and Troy Roberts, and forward Ely Allen.

Not a real shocker to see Bruce Arena clean house a bit. The Gals hadn’t drafted all that well in recent years in my eyes. Getting rid of these five was probably a must due to the guys brought in through trades and the draft this year by Arena.

Another day, another roster move for DC United. Today it appears the club is set to waive midfielder Joe Vide, according to SBI.

Vide was claimed off waivers by DC last year after a brief stay with San Jose didn’t work out for the young midfielder. I always thought Vide would settle down well for DC but I guess we were all wrong about that. Some believe that once the club got Andrew Jacobson back in the fold that Vide’s time would be cut short.

Think Vide can land somewhere else? A couple clubs could use some depth in their midfield right now like New York (where he broke out in 2007), Chivas (always looking for depth), or Houston.
