The Major League Soccer Combine set for next month finally has some players to go along with it. The league has finalized the list of names they are scheduled to invite to the Combine and the four teams left in the College Cup are definitely well represented.

A total of 54 seniors are on the initial invite list, mostly no shockers of who will be invited by the league. Only a couple players were missing that some will be surprised by like Monmouth’s Ryan Kinne or Virginia keeper Diego Restrepo. Just keep in mind injuries could play a factor in some players missing. Also some players could have declined the invite to pursue other options.

This list will grow as the league officially signs their Generation adidas class for this draft. I’m being told that they could sign most of the GA players by end of the month (or year if you will).

Here is the complete list if senior MLS Combine invitees (Note: if the official list that is expected to be released later this week has any changes I’ll update this list here):

A few surprises today with the Generation adidas class and MLS Combine rosters being announced. The GA list went out without a hitch from what we discussed yesterday but a couple players were missing from the Combine list that the league ended up missing out on.

Both Marcus Tracey (Wake Forest) and Mike Grella (Duke) have opted not to sign with MLS and instead will look at offers from European clubs. There is still time for the two to sign before next week’s draft but if they don’t this draft class will have taken a big dent with those losses.

As for the GA list, the nine we discussed yesterday were announced today. There is still an outside chance another name could be added to this list but I still doubt that will happen in time.

Steve Zakuani

Omar Gonzalez

Rodney Wallace

Jeremy Hall

Baggio Husidic

Kevin Alston

Stefan Frei

Peri Marosevic

Daniel Cruz

Now as for the Combine information, below is the list of rosters as well as game times for those in the area. Miami fans, you claim to want a team so bad right now…if I were you I’d show up in full force as these games are open to the public. Show your support for the league’s future here, plus it may help get some more people behind you if you do indeed show up for this event. (sorry for the rant, I just couldn’t help it here)

Ah, Christmas come early for those who love the MLS SuperDraft. Today the league released the list of players that they will be inviting to the MLS Combine Jan. 9-13 at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. All 15 MLS teams will be represented at the annual event, which will end two days before the draft in St. Louis. Additional players will be added in the coming weeks.

Some guys on this list I’ve already discussed in recent Draft posts, others I will try to get into later on before the draft. The 65 players will get broken up into a couple teams and will play in a few games to try and impress the various scouts on hand. Usually it helps us know who will be stars on the next level and who won’t be.

GOALKEEPERS (7): Chris Brown (Boston College); Evan Bush (Akron); Steward Ceus (Albany); Alec Dufty (Evansville); Neal Kitson (St. John’s); Milos Kocic (Loyola, Md.); Sean Milligan (Dartmouth).

DEFENDERS (20): Lyle Adams (Wake Forest); Calum Angus (Saint Louis); Trevor Banks (Old Dominion); Darius Barnes (Duke); Rhett Bernstein (Brown); Matt Besler (Notre Dame); Evan Brown (Wake Forest); Oscar Castillo (Connecticut); Chris Clements (Tulsa); A.J.
