Just another preseason exhibition match for FC Dallas and another solid performance by the club. Today they downed local school SMU 4-0 behind another strong showing from David Ferreira.

Dallas used a mix of starters and trialist today including Duke Hashimoto, who scored his first preseason goal in the 61st minute after joining FCD training camp in the February.

I had meant to get this up yesterday but I’ll admit I got side tracked and it didn’t happen. Anyways below are the highlights from Saturday’s exhibition between FC Dallas and the University of Tulsa.

FC Dallas routed Tulsa 7-1 in this one as David Ferreira and Atiba Harris scored two goals apiece while Brek Shea added three assists. Dallas was without Jeff Cunningham but the offense didn’t lack one bit. I was particularly impressed with Shea and his assists, that’s a good sign that he could see plenty of minutes this year for Schellas Hyndman.

To be honest this game was kind of a dud for the US. Slovakia got a PK and then packed things in for the rest of the game. You could say the US also didn’t help matters out for themselves as they couldn’t generate solid offense and when they did have changes, well they just didn’t do enough with them.

In case you were under a rock last night and missed the comeback that the US put on to get a tie with Costa Rica. It seriously was one of the best second halves I’ve seen the US play in a while.

Yeah this one was anything but normal. DCU jumped out quickly to a 4-0 lead then to only have a fight on their hands for the second half.
