US To Face Denmark In November

Now that the US has officially qualified for the 2010 World Cup the friendlies are starting to line up for the next few months to gear up for the big event in South Africa.

The US has announced today that they will travel toAarhus, Denmark to face fellow qualified side Denmark on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Kickoff at NRGi Park is set for 8:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. ET), and television details will be announced in the near future.

This will be the first match between the two sides in Denmark. The US is 1-1-3 against Denmark all-time. The last time these two sides met it was Bob Bradley’s first game as manager of the US team. Jonathan Bornstein and Kenny Cooper scored in their national team debuts in helping the U.S. to a 3-1 victory.

I like this friendly for a couple reasons, it gets the US against a team that qualified out of a very tough group in Europe and it gets the US on the road. I think good road matches are key for the US to get ready for the World Cup this time around.

What do you make of a match against Denmark?
