Over the weekend this little site turned 4 years old.

I nearly forgot about it and last year I totally skipped over it. What can I say I’m getting older and birthdays are hard to remember for my family members much less a blog on the internet.

Anyways, I wanted to thank all of you who’ve helped push me this far. I think this is a pretty nice milestone though next year will be really nice. I’ve hit walls with this place here and there but I’ve always been able to come through them thanks to your support.

As we enter our next chapter here I hope to continue to make this place a stop for your daily soccer reading. I know I don’t have the staff that other sites do but I do my best (along with Geoff Reid too).

I think I’ll have a drink to celebrate.

I failed to bring it up over here though. For one I am sorry for lagging behind on that front.

What does it mean for this place though? Nothing really. I’ll still pop out MLS-related items each day that I can and provide you with my usual thoughts and opinions on the issues and news at hand.

Head on over there and check things out. If you aren’t familiar with the SBnation of soccer blogs do yourself a favor and check out the MLS related ones and Steve Davis’s blog as well. All are worth a read. I know they are close to getting blogs that cover each MLS club though they are looking for a few good writers to cover Chivas USA, the LA Galaxy, the Columbus Crew (?) and I believe Toronto FC.

I may begin writing more down the road for the main SBnation.com’s MLS section. We’ll see how this FCD stuff goes first before I make that addition to my daily writing. But again this is still my home and first priority in writing.

I want to thank you all for making 2010 a banner year here at WVHooligan.com. I won’t bore you with site stats like other folks do at this time or do some end-of-year list. Instead I’ll just say thank you. You readers are what keep me going, even if the comments or emails are negative. I’ve honestly had more fun this year with this place than any other year that I’ve owned this site.

I hope you and your’s have a wonderful new year. 2011 is already shaping up to be an interesting year in MLS and for me personally. With the SuperDraft in the coming weeks I’ll be pretty busy here and on other places.
