Once in a blue moon I get bored and head over to BigSoccer. Well, today was one of those days (I thank my new puppy for waking me up extra early and giving me this extra time this morning).

I saw this thread at BigSoccer and thought it was pretty interesting and pretty amusing. Plus I wanted to see exactly what you all think should be banned/outlawed/kicked out/etc. from MLS.

Normally I think BigSoccer is just fully of junk but I have to admit, this page jumped out at me and thread actually had some substance. A few others had some decent thoughts as well before it got into the typical “stop naming clubs after this and that” and “stop playing in football stadiums”.

Anyways, the first thing the author said was actually kind of funny. While I like the extra noise that goes on at the games, getting rid of those lovely plastic horns should be a must! Listen I know they “add” a little extra atmosphere to the stadiums but I have to admit they get pretty annoying after a while.

The second was one I’ve been screaming for months now: “The term “yeahhhhhhhhhh” after any goal as spouted by Max Bretos.”

Others that I thought were a good idea:

Getting rid of the ‘Super’ in SuperDraft – Let’s face it there is really nothing Super about the draft anymore!

MLS Cup/All-Star Game Halftime show – Do we really need some band or singer taking up two or three minutes of our time at the half? I think not.

Promotion/Relegation talk – One topic that just needs to be put to rest.

Teams allowing 37 goals in 18 games – HELLO!, nice knock at the Galaxy there.

So what are some things that need to get on the way out here? Let’s hear it!

I typically try to stay away from talking about other MLS blogs and websites out there, mainly to not step on any toes or tick anyone off with my opinion even if it is good. But today is kind of one of those days that I have to take a step back and feel a little bit luck to blog about the sport and league that I love.

For those who don’t know a MLS related blog was hacked/attacked/torn-up/etc., over the last day or so. The main source (other than from actual media) for everything Real Salt Lake, the RSLFM.com blog.

RSLFM.com isn’t run like a professional news site, but rather is more of a critical and biased look at all things connected to RSL. Typically pessimistic like a New England based sports fan and typically harsh on the team’s front office like a New York sports fan, but almost always funny, humorous, entertaining, and always worth a read even if you aren’t a RSL fan. Its not always what they write but how they write and present their stuff is what I enjoyed out of them.

Being hacked is a nightmare scenario for a blog or any website for that matter (a situation I’ve been through on another site before). It’s something I hope never happens to WVH, and we have the site backed up just in case.

Hopefully sites like mine and others that I’ve seen already today will keep their hopes up and give them the motivation to continue on in this tough time that they are going through. I hope that whatever dickhead out there that caused this or did the hacking will get caught. I would have to think that a simple IP search from Blogger could help find what happened and help catch the person.

Best of luck RSLFM, don’t let others rain on your parade.

- WVH
