2012 MLS, Week 11: Tuesday Quick Pick

For some odd – very odd – reason the new week gets started a day earlier than normal. I won’t spend a ton of time with this as I have things to do before this game kicks off. Tonight’s game should be a fun one though. Portland Timbers at Houston Dynamo: John Spencer makes a…[continue reading]

Cool Gift To Those Attending BBVA’s Opener

One cool thing about a new stadium is the nifty gifts that are given away to the first lucky fans. With BBVA Compass Stadium opening tomorrow, Houston is giving this away. Very cool.

Video: Tour of Houston’s New Digs

Wanna see BBVA Compass Stadium inside and out? This video is certainly for you then. I have to say I am very impressed with the level of detail in this stadium and some of the “little things” throughout. Very well designed and built. MLS stadium sure have come a long way from Crew Stadium huh?

Photo: BBVA Compass Stadium At Night

People who are close to me know that I am a sucker for two things: soccer stadiums and city skylines. Combine the two and I am worthless as all I’ll want to do is spend time looking at them together in all possible elements. So here it is, thanks to the Houston Dynamo Twitter feed,…[continue reading]

Dynamo Channeling Their Inner Spain With 3rd Kit?

This could indeed be real folks. The Houston Dynamo have a third kit coming out apparently and it looks awfully similar to an old Spain jersey that is in my closet. I was kind of hoping if they did one this year it would be in a baby blue or something like that. But according…[continue reading]

MLS Hands Clark Three Game Suspension

I’ll be brief with this because I think MLS got it right. MLS Commissioner Don Garber has suspended Clark for three games and fined him an undisclosed amount for using unacceptable and offensive language towards a ball boy in the seventh minute of the game in Seattle on Friday, March 24. Commissioner Garber also mandated…[continue reading]

League To Review Colin Clark Comments

I’ll be honest. I wanted to stay away from this story but it’s something that is worth brining up here. During Friday’s Seattle-Houston game, Dynamo midfielder Colin Clark yelled a pretty nasty two-word slur, a homophobic slur, to a Sounders ball boy. Clark posted an apology for his remarks on Twitter a few hours after…[continue reading]

Ching Saga Over, Forward Traded Back To Houston

The Brian Ching saga is over. The Houston Dynamo have reacquired Ching from the Montreal Impact in exchange for a conditional draft pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. Yes, just for a conditional draft pick. The Impact end up being the big losers on this deal after playing hardball back in November. At best they’ll…[continue reading]

Dynamo, Impact and Ching All Close To A Deal

I didn’t get to this yesterday, forgive me I was a bit under the weather. I talked last week about how Montreal Impact forward Brian Ching was doing with his stay in MLS’s newest city. So far it seemed okay until yesterday took a turn for the…well…expected. [blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/impactmontreal/status/169104069573623809"] Yes, personal reasons. Read between the…[continue reading]
