About WVH
Some have asked for a little insight into me, the Hooligan from West Virginia. Yes if you haven’t put two and two together WV stands for West Virginia.
Now, that is where I used to live and go to school but now days I live in Dallas, Texas with my girlfriend/soon-to-be-wife.
My name is Drew Epperley as you have seen on many posts here and I am a recent graduate of WVU. I got my degree in journalism, with specialization in broadcast news. Hense why I am probably more vocal about the state of the boardcasting of the MLS, due to my time in the radio during and after school. I am not currently in radio right now but soon enough I will be again.
My passions are writing and soccer, put the two together and you get what you are reading now.
Some have asked “why WVHooligan”, simple, real simple. A couple years ago while at WVU a group of friends that I was in radio with decided to get together and form an online blog about sports and other school crap. We called it “WVUhooligans.com” since we were at WVU and we all loved the beautiful game, not to mention we were a bunch of hooligans at heart. That site didn’t last very long due to school work, girls, and all other walks of life for some and most went on to do their own thing for other sites or outlets but I stuck with it more so on a soccer sense. I enjoyed writing about other sports but I knew soccer better than anything else and could spend more time doing it and that is why I am here today with this current site.
You may see the tag line of “Annoying refs since 97″ at the top, that comes from the amount of time that I have been doing websites. I am a soccer geek, a web geek, and a writing geek.
Any more questions feel free to ask but those have been the most common ones that I have gotten in emails in the past.
