It is been almost two years to the day since I last spent time crafting anything for this space. I haven’t given a lot of thought or even effort in making sure this place has been kept up in that time either.
I know in that time I’ve been busy making sure BigDSoccer.com is a premier landing spot for all things FC Dallas and DFW related. I would say in the last two years, that site has gone from a small MLS blog to being one of the best landing spots for FCD-related topics. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished there and what my team has done there. The group I’ve pulled together does amazing work and helps me be a better managing editor for all of them.
So what am I doing back on this spot? Honestly, I felt it was time to return. I’m not going to say that WVHooligan.com is going to once again be a landing spot for my thoughts and opinions on all things Major League Soccer and US Soccer like it once was before. Part of me wants to change this space entirely into something else. And then there is a small part of me that just wants to pull the plug altogether on this spot.
I think in the coming weeks I hope to do a little more, week by week, month by month, to get this back to being a spot that is worth regularly checking. Sure I want to discuss MLS expansion like I once hammered out on a regular basis. I’d also like to dive into the wild topics of TAM, GAM and DP signings going on. But I know at the end of the day that I don’t want to burn myself out again on covering all things. That was always my issue before and it would be again if I tried to do too much too soon.
Lastly, I know I really want to talk about beer and traveling. So maybe I’ll mix those thoughts in as well.
Either way, I do think things are going to come back into the fold slowly for me on this space. For those of you that still regularly check this spot out, thank you. To those that still use a RSS-reader like it is 2009, thank you.
It is good to be back on a site that I devoted so much of my time and energy to in the past. I don’t think everything from it will go away but I do imagine changing up a good deal of things on here moving forward.
