UPDATE: MLS has called for a press conference on Wednesday. Its getting official folks.
Well, the whole 45-60 day thing didn’t quite go that long. Various reports out of the Midwest suggest that Major League Soccer will be in Minnesota on Wednesday to formally announce the city’s expansion bid with NASL side Minnesota United.
Wheels in motion in Minneapolis. Unconfirmed, but hearing United’s official welcome to MLS could come as early as next week.

That tweet came over the weekend and now Northern Pitch is confirming those comments from Straus.
Since then several unnamed sources have confirmed to Northern Pitch that on Wednesday, March 25, at 10:00 AM local time, the owners and management of NASL club Minnesota United will stand with Don Garber, the commissioner of Major League Soccer, and tell the assemblage in front of them that United will join MLS as the next expansion team.
The event will be hosted at the home of one of the new partners in Minnesota United, the owners of the Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins.
So there you go.
