- Atlanta Expansion
I’ve been asked several times from people since the announcement earlier this year that Atlanta would be getting a MLS club as to how well I think they’ll do. Well before I explain any of my thoughts (again), I’ll give you one tweet to show you how they really are doing first.

Incase you are wondering, the challenge to fill the remaining seats sits around 11k. That would get them to the 25k mark for the start of their first season in 2017. That is two and a half more years away folks.
I know a lot of people had their doubts about this market and all but like I said before when the expansion deal was announced, this is a smart place for MLS to expand to. The demographics are perfect for a team and it is now pretty obvious that people are excited for a team there. Most teams in MLS would actually kill for 14k season ticket deposits like this. I’ve been told that Sporting KC, a team that sells out their stadium pretty regularly has 14k season ticket holders.
There is still plenty of time for Atlanta to fill up all of those season ticket deposits too. I for one think they’ll come very close if not achieve that too.
