Soccerloco is at it again. They were kind enough to send me not only one but two new kits to review for you all. (Other kit review will be posted later)
Up first is a look at the new United States national team away kit for this year’s World Cup. Now when this puppy was being rumored, a lot of us laughed at it. Claimed it looked like a Bomb Pop. Which it totally does in some ways.
But the more I’ve worn this new kit over the last week or so, the more I have grown to liking it. Sure, the look reminds me of a jersey Russia would wear. But when you compare it to the plain white home jersey, the pairing works for me.
The new top features blue shoulders with a white band that cuts across the chest and around the sleeves but doesn’t continue onto the back – that way they do not interfere with the names and numbers. The shirt comes with the laser-cut ventilation holes and engineered mesh similar to what the white home top offers. This is technology that Nike has come up with to help keep players cool in Brazil.
Thanks to the good folks at Soccerloco for sending over the new kit to help with this review. Just so you know, they’re offering free shipping on all World Cup jerseys and match balls.
