We’re only three weeks into the season and so far, the 2014 crop of rookies in Major League Soccer have really yet to make any sort of impact on the new season. Part of that is due to the increasing use of loans to USL PRO and NASL teams that clubs are doing this season. That increase has lead to fewer rookies producing so far this season.

Still, five rookies saw minutes this past week with three going the distance. Interestingly enough the two that didn’t go the full 90 contributed to their club’s attack.

Week 3 minutes:

90 Thomas McNamara (Chivas)
90 Eric Miller (Montreal)
90 John Berner (Colorado) – 1 shutout
66 Harrison Shipp (Chicago) – one assist
