- Logos, MLS Expansion, New York City FC
New York City FC announced today that it wants its fans to choose the club’s official team badge as they count down to their inaugural season.
Starting today and ending on Thursday March 13th, fans will have the opportunity to vote on their preferred badge from two options, created by renowned designer Rafael Esquer and chosen by the Club. The badge that receives the most votes will be formally unveiled in New York City on March 20th.
Just on a first glance, give me the circular badge for the logo. Both logos let you know immediately who owns this team in New York too. I like the idea of basing the club logo off the city subway token a little more than going for a unique looking badge. Sometimes simple just works and I think this one does.
I kind of wish though that the “N” in the circular logo was the same color as the other logo. I think it would pop a little more if it had that.
To vote on the preferred final badge, fans can simply log on to www.nycfc.com/vote. Voting will remain open through Thursday, March 13th.
What do you all make of these two logos?
