Many of you have asked for it, and so here it is. The new year is upon us and teams are making moves left and right, so it only makes sense to start following the MLS Allocation Order yet again.

Just like in previous years, the order is the reverse order of the previous year’s finish, taking playoff performance into account. Once a club uses their spot, they move down to the bottom of the order. Spots can be traded as well. As in previous years, I’ll do my best to keep up with this order as the year go on.

  1. Philadelphia Union (swap with DC United on Jan 14)
  2. Seattle Sounders FC (swap with Chivas USA on Dec 11)
  3. Toronto FC
  4. Columbus Crew
  5. FC Dallas
  6. DC United (swap with Philadelphia on Jan 14)
  7. Vancouver Whitecaps
  8. Chicago Fire
  9. Montreal Impact
  10. San Jose Earthquakes
  11. New England Revolution
  12. Colorado Rapids
  13. Chivas USA (swap with Seattle Sounders on Dec 11)
  14. LA Galaxy
  15. New York Red Bulls
  16. Houston Dynamo
  17. Portland Timbers
  18. Real Salt Lake
  19. Sporting KC

The 4th pick belongs to New England. It was traded for defender Michael Parkhurst.

    • Nope, New England picked up the 4th pick in the SuperDraft for Parkhurst, not in the Allocation Order.
