It certainly was a good weekend to be a Colorado Rapids player. Or a LA Galaxy player. Take your pick. Both teams had stellar efforts from their rookies and that quickly reflected in my latest rookie rankings.

1. Dillon Powers (Colorado) (up 1)- After being off a week, Powers and the Rapids made quick work of the Sounders on Saturday to the tune of a 5-1 beating.

2. Gyasi Zardes (LA) (up 1)- I still think he can make a late run of this after his latest outing against Chivas USA. He was dominant on the wings and provided the spark that we expected to see out of him this season.

3. DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle) (down 2)- Had to be moved down this week after that beating he and the Sounders took on Saturday. Yedlin didn’t look awful in the loss but no one really looked good during that match for the Rave Green.

4. Deshorn Brown (Colorado) (n/r)- Back in the rankings for me after that performance. I still believe he and Powers will split votes when it comes down to it, but his goal total will likely be enough to get him a lot of votes. Nine goals leads all rookies, very impressive to say the least.

5. Wil Trapp (Columbus (no change) – Thought about bumping him out after the loss on Saturday to SKC but Trapp continues to show me more with each game.

Here is how the rest of the rookies did in Week 32.
