Five MLS Clubs Have Better Attendance Than Most MLB Teams

The financial news site The Street published an interesting article Friday about the growth of Major League Soccer. Five MLS clubs are outdrawing Major League Baseball teams this season.

In fact, the Sounders are outdrawing all but three MLB teams.

Houston, Toronto, Real Salt Lake and New York also out draw a couple of these MLB teams as well.

Avg. 2013 attendance: 20,674
Outdraws: Miami Marlins (17,168), Tampa Bay Rays (17,718), Houston Astros (18,271), Cleveland Indians (18,995)

Montreal Impact
Avg. 2013 attendance: 21,283 (two of their games were played at Olympic Stadium)
Outdraws: Miami Marlins (17,168), Tampa Bay Rays (17,718), Houston Astros (18,271), Cleveland Indians (18,995)

LA Galaxy
Avg. 2013 attendance: 21,948
Outdraws: Miami Marlins (17,168), Tampa Bay Rays (17,718), Houston Astros (18,271), Cleveland Indians (18,995), Seattle Mariners (21,537), Kansas City Royals (21,908)

Seattle Sounders FC
Avg. 2013 attendance: 41,501
Outdraws: All MLB teams except the Dodgers, Cardinals and Giants
