First of all, forgive me for being absent around these parts yesterday. Only one post in the early AM was sort of lame on my part. Life got in the way but hopefully the rest of this week will be better.

First up today is the recap of how the rookies did this past week in Major League Soccer. Week 15 was a short week as the majority of the league’s clubs were off for the weekend thanks to the FIFA calendar date for World Cup qualifying. There were still five games on the week, which meant some rookies got some minutes.

One thing continues to ring true for this rookie class in MLS, if you are a defender, you’ll get plenty of minutes.

In Columbus, it looks like rookie Homegrown defender Chad Barson is starting to make his stamp on the club. He started his second straight game on Wednesday in Philadelphia. Both of his starts have been the full 90 minutes for the Crew.

Elsewhere, New England’s rookie duo of Scott Caldwell and Andrew Farrell continue to rack up minutes. Both went the full 90 in the 0-0 draw against D.C. United on Saturday.

Here is how the rest of the rookies did in Week 15.

Week 15 Minutes:

90 Chad Barson (Columbus)
