Week 9 in Major League Soccer may have been one of the best for the young rookie class to date. Three players made their professional debut, three scored and two tallied assists.

No one had a bigger week than Vancouver rookie Kekuta Manneh. He was subbed in during the second half against FC Dallas and immediately made an impact on the game as Vancouver was trailing 2-0. Right away he scored a goal and then moments after that helped set up the game-tying goal to get the Whitecaps a point on the afternoon.

Elsewhere, LA used a mix of reserves and starters in Salt Lake and came away with three points thanks partly to the debut of rookie Charlie Rugg. The Boston College grad scored his first goal just 20 minutes into his first match. In the same game we saw the debut of LA homegrown Gyasi Zardes as well. I look for him to become a big impact player down the road.

Here is how the rest of the rookies did in Week 9.
