It was another fairly light week for rookies in Major League Soccer. We’re starting to see more and more which guys get the consistent minutes here while which ones are having to battle it out either with injuries (like FC Dallas rookies Walker Zimmerman) or through the reserve teams.

Some players are loaned away like D.C. United defender Taylor Kemp.

But once again we did have at least one rookie that shined through this weekend. While five played the full 90 minutes it was just a short stint for Supplemental draft pick Adam Jahn to make the headlines this week. Jahn entered the match for San Jose against the Portland Timbers in the late stages of the game and was able to bag the game-tying goal in the 92nd minute.

The goal was Jahn’s second of the season, tying him with Colorado rookie Deshorn Brown for most goals by a rookie this season.

Here is how the rest of the rookies did in Week 8.

  • Deshorn Brows is a bit hurt… Any rookies playing for the Rapids should fear for their hammies, joints, and bones. If it can break, tear or be strained in any way, they’re in trouble.
