It is Friday, which once again means it is time for weekend predictions here on WVHooligan.com.

MLS rolls into the second week of April and once again we have nine games to enjoy this weekend. Only the club is off for the weekend (Sporting KC). We also have one rivalry game and a couple big conference battles as well.

Here are my predictions for this weekend’s game. Feel free to leave your own as well in the comments below.

Saturday

Columbus Crew at Montreal Impact: A game that I totally expect to be very tightly played by both sides. I’d imagine the game will have one goal and the home side will end up with it due to their counter attack play.

WVH Prediction: Montreal 1, Columbus

Real Salt Lake at Vancouver Whitecaps: Javier Morales is back folks but I don’t expect him to make a massive impact on this one here as he is still getting into full health here. I think this is one of those games that Vancouver has to win here, being at home and all. But did that Omar Salgado issue during the week get handled? And did it distract the club any? Time will tell.

WVH Prediction: Vancouver 2, RSL 1

Toronto FC at Philadelphia Union: Some say this won’t be worth watching but I think this could be a very good game this weekend. Does Jack McInerney continue his solid early season form? I think so against a Toronto defense that got shredded a good bit last week against FC Dallas. This one will certainly be engaging to watch for 90 minutes though as both teams have shown that they don’t quit.

WVH Prediction: Philadelphia 1, Toronto 1

New England Revolution at Seattle Sounders FC: Time for Sigi Schmid and the Sounders to get their first win. I do expect some CCL hangover in this one but New England doesn’t have the offense to do enough pressure to push Seattle for 90 minutes.

WVH Prediction: Seattle 1, New England 0

New York Red Bulls at D.C. United: Can Dwayne De Rosario’s return spark United? I think so against a Red Bulls squad that has injury issues of their own to deal with. Also, will Thierry Henry show up for this one?

WVH Prediction: D.C. 2, New York 1

LA Galaxy at FC Dallas: Top club in the league hosting the lone unbeaten club in the league. Should be fun right? Should be. LA has the depth to handle the double duty on the week while Dallas has to show they can play for a full 90 here and not give up late goals. I think this one is Dallas’ to lose though as they’ve been extremely good at home over their last seven or so games.

WVH Prediction: FCD 1, LA 0

Colorado Rapids at Chivas USA: Don’t bet against El Chelis and Chivas right? Well sorta. I think Colorado will push them to the brink here but the Goats have some talent to get the three points here. If anything I see Colorado chasing this game from the opening whistle.

WVH Prediction: Chivas 2, Colorado 0

Sunday

Chicago Fire at Houston Dynamo: Houston at home. Yeah. I’m not betting against them here against a Chicago team that just hasn’t shown me enough yet this season.

WVH Prediction: Houston 2, Chicago 0

San Jose Earthquakes at Portland Timbers: These two will battle for the full 90, that you can bet on here. San Jose has their key guys getting healthy here but I do like Portland at home for some reason. They have the confidence after last week’s first win of the year. Still, you can’t count out the Quakes in this one and it should end level.

WVH Prediction: Portland 1, San Jose 1
