So far so good for several rookies in Major League Soccer. Week 3 was Rivalry Week and several young players came to play with two scoring some big goals in the process.

Colorado Rapids rookie Deshorn Brown put in another good outing and also scored his first goal of the season against rivals Real Salt Lake. Brown has seen consistent minutes so far this season for Oscar Pareja.

The big goal for rookies this week was Chivas USA’s Carlos Alvarez’s game-tying goal against rivals LA Galaxy. The number two overall pick got his first minutes of the season and made them count in the biggest way possible by scoring his first goal in the dying minutes of the game to secure a point for Chivas.

San Jose’s Supplemental pick Adam Jahn once again made his mark on the game, going the full 90 against Columbus.
