Keeping it simple. That is the theme of the new US Men’s National team kits to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the USSF.

On Friday, celebrating the centennial of the federation, Nike unveiled new home uniforms for the men’s and women’s national teams. The accent is on classic white in the jersey, shorts and socks with trim in what Nike calls obsidian blue.

In addition, the enlarged crest (roughly the same size as 100 years ago) has 13 stars and 13 stripes pay homage to the original United States flag and the original 13 colonies. A feature I absolutely love about these kits.

The men’s national team will play its first match in the new uniforms when it faces Costa Rica in a World Cup qualifying match in Commerce City, Colo., on March 22. The US is planning to play a centennial match against Germany in the Washington D.C., area on June 2, though it has not yet been announced officially.

What do you all think of these new kits?
