A young option tomorrow in the Re-Entry Draft is Andrew Wiedeman. (US Presswire)

Tis the season eh? Tomorrow marks Stage One of the Re-Entry Draft in Major League Soccer. The list of player available has been out for a number of days now and while that list has changed a little bit (like Gonzalo Segares re-signing in Chicago), most of it will remain what we received earlier this week.

Last year in the first stage of the Re-Entry Draft three players were selected. Carles Mendes went to Columbus, Danleigh Boreman went to New England and Arturo Alvarez went to Chivas USA. Only Mendes saw any time on a MLS field in 2012 out of those three.

It should be noted that Alvarez had a fairly hefty contract, somewhere over $200k if I recall correctly. Mendes ended up making right around $100k this year so price is key in this stage.

So who could be the Mendes of this draft? Below are a few players that could see their name called tomorrow.

Julius James – A decent center back option who is still young. His contract is right around the $100k mark, a big pricy for some but in the right set up a good back up option to have.

Blair Gavin – Still young and fairly cheap too as his total compensation last year was only $80k. New England never knew what to do with him after they got him over from Chivas USA in the Shalrie Joseph deal. Could Caleb Porter be going after a former Zip?

Paulo Jr. – Some folks would love to see this young forward on their club just based on his potential alone. He showed flashes of it during his time at RSL but never was really able to break through. His price tag is fairly good too as he only made $75k last year.

Andrew Wiedeman – A little pricer for some at $123k in total compensation. But Wiedeman still has some potential left to prove as he did well in Toronto during his brief time there. I still believe that he is a good player in the right set up and that someone will take a chance on him.
