Finally Friday. It is a simple statement that I can’t say enough today.

Week 10 has already gotten off to a decent start with the Wednesday games in the books. This weekend slate is a little friendlier with six games on Saturday and two on Sunday. It feels lighter than most weeks but it is not really.

All eyes will certainly be on Houston as they open their new stadium. I for one cannot wait to see it in person. A little road trip for me down there has to happen soon.

LA Galaxy at Montreal Impact: Possibly another big crowd at the Big O for the Galaxy? Part of me thinks the Impact will just run all over the Galaxy while the other part of me thinks the Galaxy will finally find their game and dominate like a defending champions should against an expansion club. LA has too many weapons but Montreal just has some grit about them that you can’t ignore. I’d say this one will come down to a costly mistake but in the end a draw seems likely here.

WVH Prediction: Montreal 1, LA 1

D.C. United at Houston Dynamo: Finally a home game for the Dynamo and this one should be a good one too. United is playing as well as anyone these days and will give the Dynamo a stiff challenge for this one. It is hard to root against a club opening a new stadium though and that is why you have to go with the Orange. The only thing to worry about for Houston fans is to see former Dynamo Dwayne De Rosario wreck the day with a late goal, because you know he can do it.

WVH Prediction: Houston 2, D.C. 1

Vancouver Whitecaps at New England Revolution: I never like picking a team making such a long trip like the Whitecaps are doing here. Throw in the fact that they had a midweek game and it will really do a number on this club. Saying that, the Revs haven’t shown a ton to like in the last few weeks. This one has draw written all over it in my mind.

WVH Prediction: New England 1, Vancouver 1

FC Dallas at Columbus Crew: There may be no other clubs that have as many injuries as these two do. Both will be missing key players all over the field. Columbus does have the rest factor that should play a hand in this one – Dallas played in the midweek and on Sunday. The Crew have to take advantage of the tired FCD legs but on the flip side Dallas must hope that a returning Blas Perez can spark their offense. Don’t expect a ton of scoring in this one either as this one seems like a low scoring draw.

WVH Prediction: Columbus 1, Dallas 1

Sporting Kansas City at Chicago Fire: This one is certainly tricky. SKC opened the season with seven straight wins, all very convincing before losing two in a row to Portland and Montreal. Chicago on the other hand hasn’t shown a ton this season but is starting to make a slight push. This one should be totally free flowing and open as neither team really look for a lot of possession. I see goals and no winner.

WVH Prediction: Chicago 2, Sporting KC 2

Real Salt Lake at Seattle Sounders FC: Game of the week right here folks. Both clubs made gambles in the midweek that paid off for this one as key players got some rest. I think Seattle has to have the edge in this one on form alone. Seeing them Wednesday here in Dallas showed me exactly how good this team is and that was with a bunch of reserves. Fredy Montero looked dangerous in the second half while Mauro Rosales was fun to watch as well.

WVH Prediction: Seattle 2, RSL 1

New York Red Bulls at Philadelphia Union: The Union haven’t exactly made a great stride here this season. Injuries have done a number on them as well while their offense has been dreadful to watch. New York on the other hand has gone through injuries of their own but young guys are stepping up left and right to make up for it. The midweek game may have put some wear and tare on the legs of those guys but I like their chances in Chester.

WVH Prediction: New York 2, Philadelphia 0

Chivas USA at San Jose Earthquakes: One of the more underrated matches of the weekend really. San Jose has been interesting to watch all season but the Goats are finally getting healthy here. We know Chivas wins on the road so they’ll push San Jose in this one for sure but in the end you have to stick with the Quakes who will not want to be outdone by Seattle or RSL this weekend.

WVH Prediction: San Jose 2, Chivas 0
