Week 9 gets started early with three games on the menu for tonight. Yes three. A couple big matches set for this evening as all six clubs involved have a weekend game as well, so points are big to say the least.

Colorado Rapids at New England Revolution – Interesting match up as these two always play close games. The Revs should have taken more chances against New York last weekend and will have to do it at home in this one. Colorado had their offense come alive in the weekend game against Chivas USA but I doubt it will happen two games in a row, that club just isn’t built that way just yet. Sounds like a draw to me.

WVH Prediction: New England 1, Colorado 1

LA Galaxy at Seattle Sounders – LA is leaving a few of their bigger names at home so all their advantages go out the window with that in my mind. I can’t imagine this one being terribly insightful because of that reason. Seattle is getting healthy and will want points as they embark on a big stretch of games this week and next week.

WVH Prediction: Seattle 1, LA 0

D.C. United at San Jose Earthquakes – While I love where D.C. is headed here, playing on the road in a midweek game across the country is never a recipe for success. San Jose is playing better than most of the league as it is and with them at home in this one I love their chances.

WVH Prediction: San Jose 2, D.C. 0

  • I agree that SJ will probably beat DCU, but Dero has gotten at least a goal or an assist in every single game with DCU that he has played against a former team.  Yes streaks are made to be broken, but I still like his chances of finding a way to get a goal.
