Week 5 in MLS had it’s first week with a pair of clubs having two games. That meant double the points if you played your cards right with some players from Real Salt Lake or from the Montreal Impact. I gambled by adding Fabian Espindola to my roster after making two other moves, in the end the extra attacker wasn’t a bad call though I do wish I was able to keep Portland’s Kris Boyd for another week since he finally bagged a goal against Chivas USA.

Overall though, 69 points from this week wasn’t too bad. I still have some defensive work to do and maybe one or two moves for Week 6 will do the trick. Defenders are pricy but so far this season they are worth the trouble if you have the right ones.

Kenny Cooper continues to bag plenty of goals (so does his teammate Thierry Henry). I think it may be time to get off the David Estrada train and on to someone else. He hasn’t done a ton since Week 2. Same for Jack Jewsbury who hasn’t been the assist machine that I was hoping he would be so far this season.

I get only one transfer this week to improve WVH AC but I may gamble yet again with a double dip into the transfer pool and take the four point penalty.

Despite not being totally awesome at this so far this season I am 4th in the SBNation.com writers league, 10th in the BigDSoccer league and 20th in the overall FC Dallas table. Not shabby. Still a long ways to go.

How is your team doing so far?

With Rosales potentially back this week it might be a bit too soon to cut ties with
David Estrada.  The Sounders offense  is a completely different animal with Mauro (and Johannson) on the field.
