  • MLS Expansion, New York Cosmos

Here’s a little story I just posted over at SBNation.com on the New York Cosmos. They are in discussions with Major League Soccer about possibly playing in a temporary venue for a couple season when/if they join MLS as the 20th club in a couple years.

In a way this is the smartest move for both sides as it will allow the Cosmos to work out a deal with the city to build a stadium.

What do you all think? Would a temp venue be the right fit starting out for the Cosmos or would you rather them have a stadium in place when they join the league?

  • San Jose plays in one. As does Houston. It’s better for the team if they have a stadium at the onset but in NYC it can take a while to get anything approved and built. There’s plenty of locations where they could play while that got settled.
