On a recent Twitter Q&A, US National Team keeper Tim Howard gave a rather candid response about playing in Major League Soccer again some day.  “Oh, one hundred percent. If all things were to work themselves out I would really, really like to come back and play a few years in MLS. A lot of…[continue reading]

Photo: Timbers Corn Maze Logo

I saw this earlier this morning, some Portland Timbers fans love their team and their corn. Why not combine the two huh? Workers at the Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island have carved the Portland Timbers logo into their corn field. Not bad at all.

I think the crowd is a great motivator. For me, this is one of the best events - the Lamar Hunt Open Cup - but I'd really like to see it into a structure where it's not a bid system. A bid system is where one team will buy the games because they're bidding higher. I think 20 years ago, the college game was the same thing. It could go to the higher seeds, instead of a bid system where you're spending money, or it could be pre-determined. I think that brings out all the fairness to the event.

Hurricane Irene wrecked the east coast and did a little number in these MLS Power Rankings.
