And just like that, Bob Bradley is out as manager of the US Men’s National team. He was relieved of his duties today by the US Soccer Federation. Just totally out of the blue really.

“We want to thank Bob Bradley for his service and dedication to U.S. Soccer during the past five years,” said Gulati. “During his time as the head coach of our Men’s National Team he led the team to a number of accomplishments, but we felt now was the right time for us to make a change. It is always hard to make these decisions, especially when it involves someone we respect as much as Bob. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

An announcement will be made on Friday as to where the USMNT will go next.

Yeah, this new is just shocking but not at all surprising really. More than likely the USSF has someone lined up to replace Bradley. I can’t imagine they’d go into these next friendlies in the fall without a permanent coach in place.

What do you all make of this news? Who do you want to see as the next head coach?

I dont like Klinsmann for the job, why would you chase after and hire a guy who turned you down flat before, when the team was in better shape, and arguably had higher prospects.

Has to be Schellas Hyndaman or Jason Kreis.

    • Won’t be a MLS coach. Just awful timing to do something like that. Hyndman certainly won’t be it as he’s busy with the CCL for FCD right now. Kreis, as good as it sounds is a long shot. Now had this move been made in November with the MLS season over, Kreis would be the easy pick. Just don’t see it happening now.

      • Either of them would be suitable, each would dearly be missed by their club teams. I think Kreis would do well to move to a bigger club overseas or take over one of the youth nat teams for a 2 year minimum to just grow as a coach. I like Jason’s fire though, something we’ve never seen from BB.

        • I agree w/ you about Jason. Would love to see him there (one day) as the manager of the USMNT. But right now, today, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Still would like to see him at RSL for another couple years to see if he can keep that club at a top level for more than a couple seasons (which isn’t always easy in MLS).

no MLS coaches for now!!! we already know what they can do… and it isn’t good enough at the international team level.

  • RSL just released a statement saying under no circumstances is Kreis allowed leave. Period. 😉

Thats great for RSL, maybe not so good for the USMNT.
