Juan Carlos Osorio is back in MLS.

ESPNLosAngeles.com is reporting that Chivas USA is set to hire Osorio as the team’s newest head coach.

Osorio will be coaching his third MLS team in four years and the team’s sixth coach in seven years (seventh if you include an interim coach in 2005). He helped turn the Chicago Fire in 2007 into a Eastern Conference finalist only to leave the club the following winter to go to New York. He took the Red Bulls to the MLS Cup in 2008 but then had a disastrous season in 2009, one of the worst teams in league history.

Chivas is in need of direction as they’ve lost both club CEO/president and their VP of soccer operations. I’d imagine Osorio will get a lot of freedom to run the ship in his direction which is not a bad thing at all as long as he has the right players for his style of play. We’ve seen him take half-decent teams and turn them into winners before so it can happen with this bunch.

What do you all make of Osorio landing back in MLS?

    Feliz Navidad, Chivas!

Osorio is the gift that keeps on giving (victories to the rest of the league).
