- Dynamo Stadium, Generation adidas
Consider this a memo from the good news department since most of us are still battling the depression of not having the World Cup here in 2022.
Two equally good and possibly big stories coming up, first the with the Houston Dynamo.
This morning it was announced that the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority has agreed in principle on a lease agreement with the Houston Dynamo for their proposed downtown soccer stadium. There is work left to be done however as the city and county still need to sign off on the deal.
Either way its good news as the club has been working long and hard to get this stadium together. They still hope to have it up and ready for the 2012 season.
On the other side of the globe….
The 2010 MLS Generation adidas team opened up their mini-tour in Spain with a win today over the Real Madrid reserves. Goals from Dilly Duka (Columbus Crew) and Teal Bunbury (Sporting Kansas City) led the way in a 2-1 win.
The MLS side only brought two defenders on the trip but were able to hold off the Madrid side. The lineup looked a bit interesting too as they had to pull midfielders and strikers back to fill in the gaps in defense.
GA: 0-S. Frei (1-S. Johnson 46′), 15-A. Wiseman, 24-I. Opara(23-J. Mcinerney 61′), 22-B. Shea, 26-J. Hall, 33-A. Okugo, 21-B. Husidic, 13-D. Cruz(18-L. Gil 72′), 11-D. Duka(16- C. Bone 59′), 25-T. Bunbury, 20-J. Agudelo(P. Marosevic 54′)
Not matter which way you look at it this is a nice win for MLS and these young guys.
The GA team next plays on Tuesday, against Rayo Vallecano at the City of Fútbol in Madrid.
