Boy I feel bad for those Toronto FC fans these days. Sure your club has had four fairly bad years since joining Major League Soccer and a large part of that comes down to how Mo Johnston set up the club in that time. The lack of coaching stability doesn’t help either. The same could be said about the amount of players going in and out of Toronto, some that have gone on to do bigger and better (see Edson Buddle, Conor Casey and Jeff Cunningham).
Today Toronto’s big wigs issued an open letter to their fans to tell them they are sorry for these last four years and sorry for their ticket prices getting hiked up next year.
Blah, blah, blah. That’s all I got out of the letter and I’m not even a TFC supporter. Funny enough as Fake Sigi points out the letter itself isn’t even in text format on their website, its an image. To most casual reader it will go unnoticed but for someone like me who deals with working on websites as my day job its pretty laughable that they’d do something like this.
First of all having the letter as an image means Google and other search engines can’t scan it for their web search. Which means if you go to look up a phrase in that letter it won’t pull up that letter in Google.
There haven’t been too many things that Toronto has gotten right over the last few years and this will just go down as one of them. It may not seem like a big deal but believe me its just another poor way of handling things on their end.
But saying that at least MLSE (TFC’s owners) have come out and acknowledged their wrong doings here. That has to be some small step in the right direction for them.
