The rest of the 2010 MLS All-Star roster has been released. You may not know but the league names up to 32 All-Stars each year, with seven of those players being on an inactive list. Lucky for them they still get all the lovely All-Star bonuses involved with the game.

Goalkeepers Jimmy Nielsen (Kansas City) and Kasey Keller (Seattle), midfielders Joel Lindpere (New York), Robbie Rogers (Columbus), Freddie Ljungberg (Seattle), and forwards Fredy Montero (Seattle) and Conor Casey (Colorado).

These seven were the next highest in the combined weighted voting at their positions.

Read that line above before jumping to conclusions here. Its all based on votes folks so if a guy listed there is someone you think doesn’t deserve the honor then you can only blame the voting system. For the most part I’m okay with that seven though I would have liked to have seen a guy like Kevin Hartman in Dallas or Andy Najar in D.C. named.

Ljungberg? Huh? When was the last time he even dressed?

Ljungberg – 0 goals – 3 assists (All Star Inactive)
Moreno – 1 goal – 0 assists (All Star Comish pick)
Ching – 3 goals – 1 assist (All Star Comish pick)

Saborio – 7 goals – 4 assist (All time worse All Star snub).

  • Easily the biggest snub…how he was overlooked this whole time is amazing.
