  • Don Garber, Interview

A new feature on the league’s website, a video interview with MLS commissioner Don Garber. He takes some questions from Greg Lalas and from the fans. I suppose it is worth a view/listen. Just wish the folks there would learn how to mic folks up with interviews as the audio is weak on this.

The first big question goes on expansion with the 20th club. My gut feeling is still New York but we’ll see. I may have some more comments on that as I got a great email from a reader earlier this week on a second club in New York. Sounds like they may be closer than some really think.

  • You should take a look at the article on Wilpon and the New York Islanders in this week's Newsday. If the Islanders end up being the other tenant in Queens you can kiss NY2 goodbye.

  • Just spoke to my contact in NY on this matter, they believe the Islanders are playing Wilpon here to get a new arena in Long Island…guess we'll see. But yeah if they move to Queens its goodbye NY hello somewhere else.

  • Yeah that's possible. We'll see. I am not a big supporter of NY2. If RBNY are as down with it as Garber says they are I have to question their business acumen.

Well if NYC is not picked then I think Tampa is in the hotseat, they have a video of the team on MLSSoccer
