  • Andy Najar, Generation adidas

I heard about this move earlier in the day but now it is official. D.C. has now added midfielder/forward Andy Najar to its main roster, signing the 17-year-old D.C. United Academy product to a Generation adidas contract.

Najar joins goalkeeper Bill Hamid as the second academy graduate for D.C.

Again, as we get more academy players signing with clubs throughout the league the better it gets on the field I think in the long run. So far only a couple clubs have signed two players, while some still have yet to produce any talent from their youth systems.

From what I’ve been able to gather on Najar he’s an excellent player with loads of potential. The Honduras native had a fantastic spring for the Black-and-Red.
