  • 2010 Allocation List, Allocation List, Allocation Order, Troy Perkins

New year which means we do need to update the Allocation order. For those who don’t know it resets every year unlike in the old days when it didn’t. Now its a worst to first kind of order with expansion clubs getting first crack when they join.

Below is what I’ve been able to gather as the current MLS Allocation Order for 2010. Remember DC moved swapped with Philly to get the top spot to get Troy Perkins so they are now at the bottom of the order.

1. New York Red Bulls
2. San Jose Earthquakes
3. Kansas City Wizards
4. Toronto FC
5. FC Dallas
6. Philadelphia Union (traded with DC)
7. Colorado Rapids
8. New England Revolution
9. Chivas USA
10. Seattle Sounders FC
11. Columbus Crew
12. Chicago Fire
13. Houston Dynamo
14. LA Galaxy
15. Real Salt Lake
16. DC United – Troy Perkins

I'm not so sure that dc and philly swapped spots… i think philly used its pick… then traded it… making dc 6th and philly 16th

  • Nope, Philly has not used its pick. See below.

    http://philadelphiaunion.com/Content1.aspx?cid=2.1

“Philadelphia Union announced today that the Major League Soccer expansion club have acquired allocation money, D.C. United’s 2010 MLS SuperDraft first round pick (#7 overall) and Brazilian midfielder Fred. In exchange, Philadelphia Union sent their #1 allocation ranking to D.C., which United used to obtain 2006 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, Troy Perkins. Philadelphia now hold the #6 spot in the allocation rankings.”
