Got a few bits of info to pass along to you for Thursday’s draft. First up I should have an updated/final Mock Draft later tonight or early tomorrow. A lot of news from the Combine has changed up the order quite a bit from things I’ve read, heard and spoken to folks around the league about. So stay tuned for that.

Along with that I wanted to pass a couple other notes out about the draft:

– SBI is reporting that Wake Forest defender Ike Opara is staying in school…to finish is degree. What does that mean? Well it means he won’t be available to whomever picks him on Thursday until May. It also appears that New York won’t take him at number two for that reason and for the fact that most are under the impression that Tony Tchani has passed Opara up as the top prospect.

Now the last guy who stayed in school like this was another  potential number 1 pick back in 2008, Patrick Nyarko. What happened to Nyarko in that draft? He fell from one to 7. I doubt Opara will fall that far though. If anything he could slide to number five and Dallas would certainly snatch him up in a heartbeat. I wonder if San Jose will take him at three now as they really need help with their defense on day one instead of by week 10.

Also to stay up to snuff with all things Combine check out the videos from the MLS Insider. They’ve been providing some great pre-game, half-time, break time, post-game, hotel, etc. videos of the Combine.
