First off, sorry for the lack of updates today. I’ve had quite a busy day around these parts but I wanted to pass along what just dropped into my inbox not to long ago, the final rosters for this year’s MLS Combine.

Major League Soccer has announced the full roster for both this year’s Generation adidas class and the updated MLS Combine rosters.

No big surprises after last weeks news about the players signing a GA contract. For reference again they are:

Corben Bone (Wake Forest)
Teal Bunbury (Akron)
Dilly Duka (Rutgers)
Blair Gavin (Akron)
Zac Herold (USA under-17 national team)
Sean Johnson (Central Florida)
Jack McInerney (USA U17s)
Danny Mwanga (Oregon State)
Amobi Okugo (UCLA)
Ike Opara (Wake Forest)
Tony Tchani (Virginia)
Andrew Wiedeman (California)

Along with the GA roster, the league announced a hand-full of seniors who have also signed with the league. These players won’t have to go through¬†negotiations¬†with the league and the clubs that draft them in a couple weeks. Those five are:

Andre Akpan (Harvard)
Zach Loyd (North Carolina)
Austin da Luz (Wake Forest)
Brian Perk (UCLA)
Toni Stahl (Connecticut)

This group of 17 isn’t bad at all. I think the league has to be happy with the crop of players they are getting here. I think the trend this year is more players staying here and signing with MLS rather than trying to go overseas and fail to get contracts. I think players right now are growing concerned with the amount of failed American players right now overseas not finding playing time.

To see the full Combine rosters click here. The adidas MLS Player Combine is Jan. 8-12 at Central Broward Regional Park in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The 2010 MLS SuperDraft will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. ET. The first hour will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

I plan on having more draft coverage in the coming days here as we gear up towards the draft next Thursday.
