RSSToday Major League Soccer has announced it’s Best XI for the 2009 season.
Keeper: Zach Thornton
Defenders (3): Chad Marshall, Wilman Conde, and Geoff Cameron
Midfielders (5): Dwayne De Rosario, Landon Donovan, Stuart Holden, Shalrie Joseph, and Freddie Ljungberg
Forwards (2): Conor Casey and Jeff Cunningham
Some shockers may jump out at your like Seattle’s Ljungberg. My voting went a little different but not all that far off from what the rest of the voters went with. I had Seattle’s Osvaldo Alonso and Dallas’ David Ferriera in my midfield. I also had Seattle’s Jhon Kennedy Hurtado in defense and Fredy Montero as one of my two forwards.
If I had made a second team XI, Conde, Holden, Casey and Ljungberg would have all easily made that team.
