Bruce was definitely a good choice for coach of the year. As for Thronton as MVP I don't see it. Yes he had a hell of a year and I didn't shy away from two awards for him but MVP just wasn't it. First, he knew the players from his stint as a Crew assistant. Second, you can't underestimate the job Arena did. The Galaxy was a freaking joke before he took over. Now, it's a respectable team, again. One can't overlook his influence in quieting any possible Donovan-Beckham split once Der Beckmeister returned. Also disagree on MVP. Yes, Donovan had perhaps his best season overall (despite his goal scoring being down). But Thornton was beyond huge for Chivas USA. Without him, they don't get into the playoffs.
