Well today has been a long day for most US Soccer fans. We all know that US striker Charlie Davies was involved in a car accident early this morning with two other people, one unfortunately died in the incident. The AP is reporting that Davies is listed in serious condition after emerging from surgery.

To see some photos of this accident click here at this news report from DC. The fact that Davies and the other person involved made it out alive is just an amazing thing.

After hours of surgery we have learned that Davies has suffered broken femur and fibula. He was also not the driver of the car after previous reports suggested he was.

ABC news in Washington DC has a full report on this:

Furthermore if you want a full list of the days events of those covering it, Jason Davis over at Match Fit USA has an excellent rundown of the days events.

I won’t go into anything else tonight as I just wanted to extend my thoughts and prayers to Davies and his family along with the families of the others involved, especially the family of the girl who passed away. This just really comes to show that nothing good happens after 2am.
