San Jose Stadium May Surprise You

I guess low expectations can sometimes yield good results. That may be the case this time around with the new renderings and video of the proposed San Jose Earthquakes stadium that came out over the weekend to supporter’s in the Bay Area.

We knew going into the weekend that the renderings would be coming out and that the stadium would lack a lot and I do mean a lot of bells and whistles. The stadium is only expected to hold 15,000 which pretty much meant there wasn’t going to be a lot going on in this tiny little stadium that will probably be the smallest stadium around once everyone is finally in their own soccer stadiums in the next few years.

But something about the renderings and videos kind of give me the impression that this stadium won’t be nearly as bad as once expected. Maybe it is the roof with the team name on top or just the horseshoe design that seems okay about it. Something that this writer just can’t put a finger on makes it alright.

It also appears that in the long run if things start to get better by the Bay that we could see the one end added onto to join up with the rest of the stadium and be a full stadium instead of the horseshoe.

What do you all make of the stadium?
