- Fredy Montero, Jamison Olave, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado
Some good news perhaps this morning for Seattle Sounder FC fans. Reports out of Columbia say Deportivo Cali president Rodrigo Otoya came to the U.S. with VP Cesar Caicedo where they negotiated the transfer of Cali’s portion of Montero’s rights to Major League Soccer.
From what we already know, Montero wants to be in Europe and Cali nearly sold his rights to Europe this summer. Gotta give MLS credit for stepping up and at least making sure they cash in on Montero when he does go to Europe.
I don’t envision a long stay in Seattle for Montero but one long enough to at least give the Sounders a shot at a MLS Cup run, maybe even this season since the big game is being played on their home turf.
According to the reports the executives also talked about the out right transfer of two other MLS players, Seattle’s Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and Real Salt Lake defender Jamison Olave.
