Colorado waived British midfielder Terry Cooke yesterday to make room for Jamie Smith.

Cooke piled up a decent amount of assist, 31 to be exact, over the previous three seasons; he had a dozen each in both 2006 and last season, finishing first and third in MLS respectively.

I won’t lie to ya, even though he wasn’t seeing time in the Mile High city, some other MLS club should jump to get him. He’s still a talented guy that has proven he can play and produce in this league. I think a club in the playoff hunt like a New England or Chivas could use someone like him to set up some goals. Other sides that come to mind like New York and San Jose should also take a gander.

It's got to be the thin air out there that makes coaches make the crazy personnel decisions.

    whos Jamie Smith?

  • Kaiser

He'd be a great fit in San Jose, who have tons of guys to play on the left, but none on the right!

  • WTF

No brainer for Los Angeles. Cooke's a friend of Beckham, and provides cover for any International absences by Landon Donovan at right winger. To make room, LA could cut Dema Kovalenko, who has slipped to third string at holding midfielder. Cover the cost with allocation $.
