Kudos to Buzz over at 3rd Degree for finding this one. Apparently FC Dallas may be in talks with 29-year old El Salvadoran striker Ruis Corrales. He currently plays for Salvadoran club Įguila.
Apparently Corrales and Įguila will be playing a friendly with FC Dallas in the coming weeks for the two sides to get to know one another better. There are talks of another partnership here with FCD here. This would be yet another club added to the already growing list of clubs that FCD is linked with in a partnership of some sort. We’ve seen these deals be good for Dallas in the past with guys like Juan Toja coming over.
My bet if Corrales is going to come to Dallas it will be on loan. I just don’t see them spending money on a striker that they’d have to transfer in. I know the Red Stripes are looking for a striker right now but I wonder exactly how well Corrales would do with Kenny Cooper or Jeff Cunningham. Not to mention how well he’d do in the MLS style of play.
I’d still rather see Dallas spend more attention on finding a better center back for their defense and maybe a quality holding midfielder.
