Or maybe how the stock market reached its all time high under his administration, or how he gave more than any other president to help aid aftica, and everyday more and more african children are being named George Bush and in nearly every town there is a street named after him.

Sure it reached an all time high… which directly preceded an (almost) all time low.
And I haven’t watched CNN in years. NBC is my primary news source, because it doesn’t just spit out hate like Fox News. And thanks to NBC, I learned yesterday that the Bush administration kept many of the information and strategies about the war secret from Congress. Dick Cheney confirmed this. If the President is allowed to do what he wants without consulting Congress, then this country is no longer a democracy; it’s a dictatorship. Which, you say, Bush liberated people from.
But do you REALLY believe that? Honestly? You don’t think that oil had anything to do with it?
Who needs to think for himself? Who’s the one who needs to stop believing everything the news tells him is true?

Speaking of dictatorship how about the “Patriot Act”? This is a violation of the people’s privacy, and it proved hugely unsuccessful. And I actually haven’t heard anything about that, sorry. But I’m sure he had a reason, or else there’s no way he could have gotten away with it.
Don’t label me as one of those guys with a major man crush on Obama. I voted for him, but I don’t think he’s going to be the second coming of Christ. I just want him to turn the country around and rebuild the international image that has been destroyed the past 8 years. I am an independent, but I tend to vote Democrat, as they most often share similar beliefs as my own. Anyway, dictatorship arguments aside, I don’t think you can possibly tell me that McCain would have fixed this mess right now. His plan just emphasized cutting spending. Meanwhile, he continued to support the war efforts, a war that costs taxpayers $12 billion each month. That’s $5,000 per SECOND. This is completely hypocritical, and cutting spending wouldn’t help anyway as it would just further disadvantage the public school system, which is already a mess as it is now. The New Deal worked once, and there is no real reason to think it won’t work again. We just need to get create more projects so there are more jobs available. That’s really the only thing I think Obama hasn’t done adequately so far (other than not promoting same sex marriage, but that’s a different argument). But he’s only had 6 months in office. So give him a chance, at least. I had to give Bush/Cheney 8 years. And I had to witness the country steadily head downhill, while led by the man I voted for in ’04. It was humiliating and a disgraceful time to be an American. Now finally, we are regaining some trust and respect from foreign countries. And that is vital to our wellbeing as a nation.

Many championship teams have the honor to go visit the White House and meet the President. And most players, regardless of political conviction or country of origin recognize it as such. Doesn’t matter which party the President is representing… So congrats to the 2008 Crew. I’m glad the Gold Cup players were able to go as well.
