The Mexican Football Federation has announced that the USA-Mexico World Cup qualifier in Mexico City on Aug. 12th will start at 4pm (ET).

So a 3pm local time kick sounds interesting. We can expect some muggy, humid conditions at Estadio Azteca (some have said temps in mid-August there are usually in the mid-70s). Some may make a bigger deal out of the start time than others but playing in altitude like Mexico City at this time of day could either be a good thing for the US or a bad thing.

What do you think of this news? Think Mexico is getting desperate? Why is this game being played so early? To better manage crowd violence if the United States actually wins?
