The USSF has set the possible schedule and locations for the next couple rounds of the 2009 US Open Cup.
Eight MLS teams enter the tournament in the third round, including defending champions D.C. United and four-time champion Chicago Fire. Out of the clubs left, one PDL team remains standing while for the second year in a row two USL2 teams also advanced to the third round. Six of the eight MLS clubs go on the road for their matches.
